Finding a new hair dresser is scary business. When I moved here 10 years ago, it was difficult to find a hair dresser that I just loved. When I finally did, after a couple years she moved to a salon further away, so I was on the hunt again. A friend from work had a really cute short hair cut similar to mine and recommended her hair girl, Caily, to me. I scheduled my appointment and was just hoping that I wouldn’t have to find another hair girl again.
Caily and I began talking about our families, where we were from, how we grew up, siblings, parents, and everything else in between, and we discovered that our rare families are “twin families”. We both come from families with 6 kids. Mine has 5 girls and 1 boy. Hers has 4 girls and 2 boys (twins). We are both the second born. We grew up in the country with cattlemen/rancher type dads and stay at home moms. We grew up going to church every week with similar Christian values instilled in us. We were homeschooled through our elementary years and some into middle school. At the time we both had a sister who was married to a military man and lived further away. See what I mean? Twin families. So when Caily asked me if I would take their whole family’s pictures, I couldn’t wait to meet this family that was so much like mine. At one point during the shoot, her mom said, “Sorry about the crazy, but I guess you are kind of used to it.” Yes I am used to it, and its the best kind of crazy!
Needless to say, I haven’t had to find a new hair dresser, and I look forward to getting my hair done every single time. Not only does Caily do an amazing job, but I enjoy getting to sit down and chat with someone who has become a friend.
