Coming from a big family myself, I know how difficult it is to get everyone together.  Growing up, we had aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents so close that we were together regularly, but as everyone got older, the kids went off to college, got married, joined the military, etc, it has become much more difficult to get everyone together.  So the one time of year that we do, it is so special.

When Susan told me that her entire family was going to be together for the first time in years and wanted to document the occasion, I was so excited to be able to be the one to do it.  Her brother and his family live in Seattle while hers lives here, so you can imagine, that not only is the busy-ness of life a factor, but distance as well, but getting to know this family on the day of the shoot, you would never know they weren’t together every other weekend!  The love, joy, and excitement shown from the grandparents all the way down to the great grand kids was just precious to watch and reminded me of my own family.
